He is happily married to Ursula Engel, a staff nurse for the City and they have two children, the youngest is Urshwin who is currently doing matric and the oldest is Tammy who is also happily married to Kyle Johnson. They have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. This makes Pastor Engel a grandfather.
Encouragements for Pastors
Ecclesiastes 11 verse 9. Rejoice, young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
We are living in a society where the youth are very perverse and derailed. Let's look at some stats and decide if we can afford to allow our own youth to be derailed in this manner.

Pastor Craven Engel is the senior Pastor of the Pentecostal Protestant Church (PPC) in Hanover Park. He serves on several bodies and organizations and is truly committed in the upliftment and development of the community.
He is actively involved in the following organizations:
a) The PPC National Youth Director
b) The Director of the First Community Resource Centre that includes the halfway house facility in Strandfontein.
c) and Director of the Active Schools Initiative that works in primary schools.
d) He also manages a small printing business to help the youth with some skills development (ENGEL SCREEN PRINT).
He is very passionate about community development and works hand in hand with SAPS, Social Development, Department of Community Safety and various government departments.
Currently he have trained and set up 7 satellites across the Cape Metro pole which is fully operational in response to the community development.

Two years ago as the national children's director I planned a joint event for the leaders of the children and youth of the church to draw them a picture of the situation that we are facing today. (The building the bridge conference)
My call was that the children's ministry and the youth ministry must build a connecting bridge to create a save passage for them to become quality adults.
This operation would have prevented children and youth of falling into the ditch of derailment. There is still so much that must be done in the derailed area of the youth that we need a specialized team of youths to go down into the ditches of life and get our young people and children back.
As national youth director it is my core vision to train and empower our youth to be equip to fulfil this vision as it links directly to the great commission Matt. 28 -19. Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
And also to train and develop accountable youths within our churches that do not use excuses for where they are, but they would rather opt to use their anointing instead.
Why must our youths end up as derailed individuals while trying to enjoy themselves? It's indeed a lack of knowledge
Hosea 4-6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God's law, I will also forget your children.
Let's educate our youth how, where and when to enjoy themselves and take into consideration that it must be within the season that they are living in. Proverbs 15 23. A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
